The Best Thing In Hokkaido Japan





New Chitose airport has everything! Giant shopping mall to pick up souvenirs and local food. Small Hello Kitty and Doraemon theme parks. So many restaurants serving local food. Easy to spend hours here and definitely worth making extra time


DAY 1


1. Doraemon Park

Visited the Wakuwaku Sky Park . There were some activities and many trick art photos. We even got to take a picture with Doraemon himself!

Must visit for Doraemon lovers, plenty of merchandise for sales. Propose to visit before departure, or you will end up visiting Hokkaido carrying all the merchandise


2. Kani Goten Restaurant

After that we were stop for lunch at kani goten., this restaurant offers fresh seafood from the market . It was a very filling lunch and also costly (especially the crab). But it was worth it.

3. Shiraoi Ainu Museum

After lunch we go to Ainu Museum, The museum and shows were a great display of Ainu culture. I love learning about indigenous cultures, and there's a fine line between respectful and exploitative. This place did a good job at sharing the Ainu culture without making it feel like a human zoo

For me, it's a good place to go for inform yourself about the Ainu culture


4. The Lake view Toya Nonokaze Resort

The room is excellent. Every staff in the resort are helpful. There are various types of delicious food from dinner and the breakfast buffet.

The lobby and dining hall are lined with full-length glass windows showcasing views of Lake Toya and provide a wonderful atmosphere during meals or just lounging in the lobby.

DAY 2

1. USUZAN

Usuzan Ropeway gondola can take up to 106 passengers.  The ride up Usuzan takes around 6 mins. As the gondola makes its way up to Usuzan, we could see the entire Volcano Village and Showan-Shinzan. The higher the gondola goes, the more of Toyako Onsen was visible. Nearing the summit of Usuzan, we entered into a cloud of snow.

We enjoyed taking the Usuzan Ropeway very much to go up to Mount Usu, we can enjoy great views over the mountain forest, the sea and a crater while going up.

We had a wonderful walk here and at the top of the mountains was able to enjoy a splendid view. The area is very clean and enjoyable.

2.Toya Lake Boat

Lake Toya is a caldera lake that was created by a major volcanic eruption that took place tens of thousands of years ago.

Lake Toya is an ice-free lake. It never freezes, even in winter when the temperature falls quite drastically. The beauty of the ice-free lake can therefore be admired anytime during the year.

This is tour boat that travels to the four islands. The luxurious catamaran ship, which reflects the image of a medieval ancient castle, is one of the biggest reasons for its popularity.


3RUSUTSU RESORT

All resort staff were polite, professional and attentive and made a great effort in communicating in English and understanding my limited Japanese to meet our needs.

Overall a relaxing time in ideal snow conditions. Would definitely recommend for families and quieter, open-minded folk.

If you love skiing the dry, fluffy powder in Hokkaido, the Rusutsu Resort Hotel and Convention Center is the perfect place for you. The resort is ski in ski out with several lifts just right outside the hotel door. Less than a one minute walk you can take a gondola to access several other mountains that make up the Rusutsu Resort ski area. \



DAY 3


1.Otaru Canal

Otaru is one of the leading tourist spots in Hokkaido with high popularity, and its symbol is the Otaru Canal.

In winter, the stone warehouses and the promenade are buried in snow, looking even more like countries in the far north.

The night view is awesome and lovely sightseeing. A thousand hearings are not worth one seeing. The buildings in Otaru look like European style, it’s so beautiful. Otaru canal is not so big that you can see around for a few hourEvery one whe visit otaru should come this place!!


2.MINSHUKU AOTSUKA SHOKUDOU

Nice experience starting from the ambiance when you approach the restaurant and see the fish grilling over charcoal.

We were recommended this restaurant, which is located approximately 10-15 minutes drive from the Otaru Canal area and next to the sea. When we arrived, fish were already grilling outside the restaurant, and within, another grill was laden with shellfish.


3. Masjid Al Noor, Hokkaido, Otaru-Shi

Otaru is muslim friendly place .Masjid-al-Noor is one of the most well-known mosques in Japan so it is one of the prayer places in Hokkaido that you can easily locate. It is also referred to as “Masjid Otaru” by the locals as it is situated in Otaru-shi and was inaugurated in 2009. It is a three-story building with a green dome and minarets sitting atop

It's not just a mosque. It's also a community centre where the Muslims who live nearby come together and do the community activity.

4. Otaru music box museum

Otaru Music Box Museum was built in the Meiji Era. With a main building and an additional second hall, the beautiful brick buildings are one of the reasons to visit.

5. Richmond Hotel

The third night we were in the heart of Sapporo town. Rooms at the hotel are comfortable and satisfied.

Hotel is located in the middle of the city and is connected to the shopping mall. Easy for us to buy various items to be brought back to Malaysia.

DAY 4


1. Nijo Fish Market

Nijo Fish Market, located in the center of Sapporo, is always busy with tourists looking for souvenirs. Fresh seafood and vegetables from Hokkaido, such as crab and potatoes, are available.

Nijo fish market is also one of the few places in Japan where bargaining is acceptable; feel free to try and bring the prices down

2. Sapporo TV Tower



This is yet another landmark of Sapporo, easily spotted when just walking around the streets of Sapporo! Entrance fees are reasonable, friendly staff and you can see good view of odori park and Sapporo from here. Quite a small tower, we spent less than an hour there. There are also shops selling souvenirs 



The view from the top is awesome! It is best viewed at night.

3. Shiroi Koibito Park Factory



Park is beautifully decorated with flowers for snapping photos. Factory tour is educational to watch how the tasty white biscuits are made. Even inside the factory, there are picture perfect places and items. Definitely worth a visit!

4. Taj Mahal Restaurant, Sapporo Factory


This restaurant is really excellent. Really authentic Indian food in the middle of Sapporo. Great find and the staff was very nice and helpful


important  thing, you can ask for mild spicy, hot, very hot or very very hot curry. They even have a great dessert menu

5. Mt. Moiwa

Mt. Moiwa offers views of Ishikari Bay on the Sea of Japan in the distance and the city of Sapporo below

Took the Ropeway going up, definitely worth the trip! You can see the whole Sapporo, plus the great view beyond Sapporo. The climb up the observation deck is beautiful. One can see a panoramic view! Very cild during the winter.



6. ANA Crown Praza Hotel Sapporo


The ANA Hotel Sapporo is very centrally located, just a 5 minutes walk from the train station. a 24-7 convenience store just on the GF you can buy some food / drinks to your room, especially in winter, a hot coffee is very important !

DAY 5

1. Hell Valley at Noboribetsu Hot Springs

Hell Valley is a spectacular, appropriately named valley just above the town of Noboribetsu Onsen, which displays hot steam vents, sulfurous streams and other volcanic activity. It is a main source of Noboribetsu's hot spring waters.

Nice views but some parts of the path are covered with snow and ice. Difficult to walk and surprisingly cold for a hot springs area!

2. Bear Ranch

Need to take a cable car to reach bear park at the mountain.

You can observe the bears through the glass at underground and feed nuts through a small tube. The nuts are available for sale from the glass locker there.

3. Sekisui tei

Good and big private room for Onsen especially for couples ! but for me to shy need to naked..hihi

4. Donburi Chaya Chitose Airport

The seafood donburi and steak menus from “Donburi Chaya” in Hokkaido, which are made with the finest ingredients, are  HALAL-friendly

5. ANA CROWNE PLAZA CHITOSE


Lastday we stay at Ana Crowne Plaza Chitose, sad to leave hokkaido but we very happy to stay at Hokkaido few day. I got many experience from hokkaido

DAY 6

After done checked out from the hotel, we directly depart to Malaysia from the New Chitose Airport by Japan Airlines.



Special thanks to KAZU-SAN , WATARU-SAN and MASAMI-SAN for keeping us all in hokkaido, apologize for our mistakes in taking care of time

Lastly, I want to say thanks a lot to Tourism Japan that invited as a invited blogger went to HOKKAIDO to experienced my wonderful scenery trip. So I hope that the I get to cover another state soon.
